Rook Owner Alerts

Google connection

Privacy policy

Rook Owner Alerts is a private tool that sends operating notices to the Rook project owner. This policy covers that Gmail connection and these information pages.

Information the connection uses

The connection requests only Send email on your behalf, using the permission https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send. It does not request access to read mailbox contents, contacts or Google Drive files.

Why this information is used

The information is used to send the owner’s operating notices, record delivery attempts, limit duplicate notices and investigate failures. Rook does not use data from this Google connection for advertising, sale, data brokerage or training general-purpose AI models.

Service providers and access

Google processes authorization and email delivery. DigitalOcean hosts the Rook server. Information needed for those functions is processed by these providers. Rook does not send these alert emails to other recipients.

Authorization credentials are stored outside application code and ordinary application backups, with access restricted to the owner’s administration and Rook’s service account. Connections to Google use encrypted HTTPS.

Retention and removal

Rook retains alert and delivery records with its operating history to investigate problems and support recovery. Google retains the emails in the owner’s account according to that account’s settings. Authorization credentials are retained while the connection is configured.

The owner can revoke authorization in Google Account connections. Revocation prevents future authorized sending once Google applies it; it does not remove emails already delivered or erase Rook’s historical records. The project owner can also remove the stored credential and request deletion of operating records through the support contact below.

These information pages

These pages have no signup forms, advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. The hosting and network providers may process ordinary connection and security information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the pages.

Google API data policy

Rook’s handling of data from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Contact and changes

For privacy or deletion questions, use the support email displayed on Google’s Rook Owner Alerts permission screen. The Rook project owner operates this private tool. Changes to these practices will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
